As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Donald Trump resident floated the idea of renaming the Gulf before he took office on January 20.
While holding his first press conference after being certified the winner of the 2024 presidential election by Congress on January 6, 2025, the President vowed to rename the Gulf of Mexico.
The President followed through on January 20, 2025, with his “Restoring Names That Honor American Greatness” executive order.
The President also signed a proclamation this week on February 9, designating that day as “the first ever Gulf of America Day” as the pilot for Air Force One announced, “For the first time in history, flying over the recently renamed Gulf of America.”
Far-left Google agreed to change the name on their map services last month, almost immediately after the President officially declared the change.
Apple Maps also now displays “Gulf of America.”
The National Weather Service (NWS) has announced it is now in the process of implementing President Trump’s “Restoring Names that Honor American Greatness,” and the organization began updating maps beginning around February 13.
The change can now be seen on The National Hurricane Center storm tracking map.
A statement from the NWS said it is in the process of implementing the order titled “Restoring Names that Honor American Greatness.”
In addition, The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) followed suit stating, “A name change of this magnitude has multiple facets and requires the efforts of many.”
“Adoption of the new name has also been seen across the nation in commercial applications like Google Maps and Apple Maps.”
