Military whistleblowers are revealing that the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Office of the Inspector General (IG) is falsely claiming Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) are necessary to begin investigating the complaints of service members. What could the IG be attempting to hide from the public about their investigative processes and more? Where is the transparency?
Ted Macie, a retired Navy Medical Service Corps officer and military whistleblower reached out to The Gateway Pundit, revealing that prior to his retirement last year, he submitted a complaint to the Department of Defense (DOD) IG for whistleblower retaliation after being investigated for a viral post on X concerning heart issues among active-duty military pilots. Interestingly, he said, the information was already disclosed to the proper channels.
After being deprived of computer access by his command for the 10 months leading up to his retirement, the investigation found no evidence of any wrongdoing. For this reason, Macie submitted a complaint to the DHA IG on May 31, 2024.
In emails reviewed by this author and shared on X, it was confirmed that beginning on June 3, 2024, Macie shared a series of back-and-forth emails with Deidre Tracy, an investigator for DHA IG.
IG is playing games to protect DC swamp.

Interestingly, the email exchanges were an attempt to clarify whether he was required to sign an NDA in order to submit the complaint.
Despite Macie’s direct request for an answer in writing, Tracy offered no clarification. Rather, she requested to speak with him by telephone about “the alleged policy,” he shared. He also explained that “[he] did eventually submit a complaint and went through an interview about the complaint in November 2024, although to his knowledge the investigation has not concluded, despite refusing to sign an NDA and having been told it is, in fact, not required but preferred.”
This morning, Macie realized he’s not alone. After a conversation with military whistleblower and Army flight surgeon LTC Theresa Long, he is fully convinced “Dr. Long is being stonewalled in an attempt to submit a complaint for whistleblower retaliation and reprisal, witness tampering, and bullying to the DHA IG, [explaining that Tracy] is also claiming that Long must sign an NDA in order to submit a complaint with the agency’s IG.”
With Dr. Long experiencing “the same push back against filing a legitimate complaint,” Macie said, “I am fed up with the corruption and subsequent cover-ups within our government.” Justifying sharing his story with The Gateway Pundit, he said, “If they don’t want to get to the bottom of the issues and actually fix them, holding leadership accountable, then perhaps it is time that we just bring the spotlight to the American people in other ways.”
Considering the many examples of corruption that he’s heard from other service members and veterans, “It’s going to be very unlikely many would receive any kind of justice.” As a result, he encourages whistleblowers to “go public,” knowing that sincere investigations are not likely.
Both LT (Ret.) Macie and LTC Long have expressed appreciation that newly confirmed Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has vowed to seek accountability within the DOD. Macie said he is more than willing to speak with Defense Secretary Hegseth to help accomplish this goal.
